Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her first Broadway role, she was in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The role she played in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel won her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Annaleigh is a collaborator in projects with award-winning directors as well as actors and producers throughout the course of her career. Ashford will be next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway on March 20, 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the musical. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Ashford appeared for two seasons in the CBS successful comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role as Essie. Additional Broadway credits includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
